Optimum LASIK
It seems fashionable for every surgeon to describe
their procedure as Total Lasik, Custom Lasik etc. Some
centers boast about large area treatments (removing
considerably more amounts of tissue) saying this is
better for night vision problems.
At Eyetech Lasik Clinic our goal is to customize your
correction to take the least amount of tissue for the
maximum benefit including avoiding the possibility of
night vision problems. Corneal thickness does not change
from birth. It is a set thickness and one does not grow
more cornea. There is a limit to how much tissue can
be removed from the cornea without weakening it. At
Eyetech Lasik Clinic we measure your pupil in lighted
and dimly lit conditions, and extend the correction
beyond your pupil size in dim light. Our outcomes show
93.75% of our patients see 20/20 or better.
We use lifestyle, pupil size, corneal thickness, refraction
from both your own doctor and our own testing (to give
you the best possible correction), Orbscan
topography and corneal thickness measurements as tools
to tailor-make your refractive surgery correction. In
borderline cases where the corneal thickness measurement
is critical we do ultrasound measurements to confirm
the Orbscan
findings.
